Sharing Access Issues¶
A ICDC Disk user may unintentionally restrict their own access rights to a file or folder under the following conditions:
- The user has access to another user’s folder.
- The folder contains information that the user wants to share with their group.
- The user grants access to the group and simultaneously reduces their own privileges (e.g., to
read-only).
As a result, the user may restrict their own access to the files or folders they have shared. This happens because the system first checks group permissions and then applies individual user permissions.
In addition, a user with read-only access will not be able to comment on files. To do so, they must be granted edit permissions.
If such issues occur, please contact technical support.
